Spirit Faith Grace Rage:
African Spiritual Culture in America

Oppression and trauma reduce our capacity for active engagement in the world, narrowing every aspect of our lives—our relationships, our activities, our thoughts, our memories, our emotions, even our sensations-- blocking the quest to become more fully human. We need to shake off our identities as "The Oppressed" or "The Oppressors", and re-create ourselves as full human beings.

What is it to be human? What does one do to recover from trauma?

What do we do to keep it all together?
