I am in the darkroom developing my film while watching the news event (which is still inside my film tank) reported on my portable tv. I know that I can’t compete with the speed of television reporting. I know that the images developing inside my tank have to be deeper and longer lasting. Television wouldn’t even show the type of images I make. The producers wouldn’t call them newsworthy. Indeed, the commercial media often has no interest in showing the images that I feel need to be shown.
